What’s Included

When we started cruising, our boat came with cheap toy headsets that never stayed charged and fell off if we looked down. Hand signals didn’t work—we wanted to talk about where we were anchoring, not just wave arms. Yelling across the boat led to miscommunication, frustration, and general unpleasantness.
Getting a pair of GOOD headsets was a total game-changer. We can talk calmly about decisions, warn each other if something goes wrong (like the time the engine overheated as we were pulling up the anchor), and coordinate when one of us is up the mast. I consider them essential equipment for any cruising couple.

How to Use Your SPH10 Headsets
Complete instructions are included in the package. This is a Quick Start guide.
- Attach microphone (first time only) – Insert the longer boom mic into the left earpiece port, aligning arrows and pushing securely to keep moisture out.
- Charge fully – Use the included charger. A red LED means charging; after ~2 hours it turns blue when fully charged. Unplug once full.
- Put on headset – Band goes behind the neck, not over your head. If you wear glasses, put on the headset first, then your glasses.
- Turn on – Press and hold the JOG and PHONE buttons together until you hear “Hello.”
- Pair with partner – Each time you use them: • On one headset, hold the JOG button 5 seconds until you hear “Intercom Pairing.” • Do the same on the other headset. Both LEDs flash red. • After a few seconds, press the JOG button on one headset. When you hear a soft hiss, you’re connected.
- Talk – Speak normally; the full-duplex system allows both to talk and listen at the same time.
- End conversation – Briefly tap the JOG button. (Skip this if you’ll be talking again soon.)
- Turn off – Press and hold JOG + PHONE until you hear “Good-bye” and the LED goes out.
- Recharge – We recommend recharging after use so they’re always ready.
- Store safely – Keep in the included case to protect from damage and dust.

Meet The Boat Galley Team
At The Boat Galley, we’re all cruisers. We know the joys—and the challenges—of boat life. The steep learning curve, costly mistakes, and hours spent searching for answers can be overwhelming. We’ve been there. Here, in our store, you’ll find products we created when we couldn’t find what we needed, along with a select few from other small companies that we’ve used for years (sometimes over a decade!) and still rely on today. If it’s here, it’s because it’s earned our trust on the water.
