When we started cruising, our boat came with cheap toy headsets that never stayed charged and fell off if we looked down. Hand signals didn’t work—we wanted to talk about where we were anchoring, not just wave arms. Yelling across the boat led to miscommunication, frustration, and general unpleasantness.
Getting a pair of GOOD headsets was a total game-changer. We can talk calmly about decisions, warn each other if something goes wrong (like the time the engine overheated as we were pulling up the anchor), and coordinate when one of us is up the mast. I consider them essential equipment for any cruising couple.

Comparison: Our 2Talk and SPH10 Headsets
We sell two styles of Bluetooth “Marriage Saver” headsets — the newer 2Talk and the original SPH10. Both provide clear, hands-free communication for docking, anchoring, locking, or mast work. Use this chart to see their shared features and key differences so you can choose the best fit for your needs.
Replacement foam covers refresh and extend the life of your headsets. Each headset includes one spare set of foam earpieces and a mic cover — but sun, heat, sweat, and sunscreen mean you’ll likely replace them every 4 - 6 months. It’s not a bad idea to have a few extra spares on hand.
At The Boat Galley, we have one mission: to help you cruise with confidence.

Meet The Boat Galley Team
At The Boat Galley, we’re all cruisers. We know the joys—and the challenges—of boat life. The steep learning curve, costly mistakes, and hours spent searching for answers can be overwhelming. We’ve been there. Here, in our store, you’ll find products we created when we couldn’t find what we needed, along with a select few from other small companies that we’ve used for years (sometimes over a decade!) and still rely on today. If it’s here, it’s because it’s earned our trust on the water.

The last time we put the boat on the trailer before the Marriage Savers arrived it took 10 attempts to line up the boat with the trailer while Captain was standing near the trailer tongue chest deep in the lake with 16-25 knots of side wind. It’s challenging to hear his directions while I’m at the helm with the engine running. The headphones are fantastic.

Cheaper than gelcoat repair
Talking beats trying to decipher hand signals any day! Cost way less than just one gelcoat repair.

Marriage Savers Indeed!
Love these! Our boat came with an old pair and while we realized how great they could be for anchoring, they were a pain to use. So I started looking for something better and found these. Thank you! The auto-pairing is huge for making them simple to use and the behind the neck design means they've never fallen off.
